How are JSON arrays converted to XML?

Each item in a JSON array becomes a child element. For example, {"items":[1,2,3]} becomes with three children. The child tag name is derived from the parent key.

How are JSON keys with special characters handled?

XML element names cannot start with numbers or contain spaces. Keys with spaces are converted to underscores; keys starting with numbers get a leading underscore prefix to produce valid XML.

What is the root element?

XML requires a single top-level element wrapping all content. Since JSON objects do not have this, a configurable root element (default: root) is added. Change it to match your schema requirements.

Is the output valid XML?
